The story
The fire took everything. Something in the ashes still remembers his name.
A survivor returns to the place where his home burned and finds the ash rising into the shape of a familiar face. Each evening it remembers another detail of the night he cannot explain. As a new storm gathers, he must decide whether the figure has come to forgive him, warn him, or bring him back inside.
Grief gathers slowly, then arrives with the force of a storm.
