The story
The city's missing water is falling toward a sky beneath their feet.
When the reservoirs empty overnight, a municipal engineer descends into a chamber erased from every city plan. Water spirals past him toward stars where solid ground should be. His crew wants to seal the opening, but a voice below knows why his father vanished. One final descent could save the city or leave it without a world to stand on.
