The story
The fall lasts eight seconds. The world inside the water has much longer.
During a routine microgravity test, a physicist photographs a landscape inside a floating sphere of water. It appears only while the capsule falls, giving him eight seconds at a time to make contact. When the next recording shows someone waiting beside his own laboratory window, another descent becomes a decision he can no longer treat as an experiment.
